Adding Shutters to Your Home

At Today's Window Fashions, we know how many options you must have to consider once you have made the decision to redo your windows. All the blinds, shades, and drapes are great options, but some of the most impactful treatments that we sell are our shutters from Hunter Douglas. The three lines of shutters are among the window treatments that actually add to the value of one’s home, so we often consider quality shutters as an investment that will pay off in low maintenance and great style.

One of the benefits of adding shutters to your home is that the three unique styles we offer have different purposes, depending on what specific goals you're trying to achieve.

The first style we offer is Hunter Douglas' Heritance® Hardwood Shutters. This type, which is created out of genuine wood, uses Truemill® dovetail construction. This is one of the strongest ways to hold panels together, which means that you will not only have a beautiful new window fashion, but also one that is durable and will give you a new peace of mind. The Heritance® Hardwood Shutter also comes in over 40 finishes, and we also offer the option to customize your own color in order to properly match any existing decor you may already have in place. Additionally, we also use an Integra™ finish, which creates both long-lasting durability and high luster. This, in turn, requires minimal upkeep in terms of taking care of your new window treatments. An additional benefit of adding shutters to your home is that they can be outfitted to fit windows of nearly any size, including specialty shapes.

Another style you may want to consider when adding shutters to your home is the Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ Shutter. These are designed and crafted out of a Polysatin™ material, which is UV-resistant. This means that these perform great in places that exhibit high amounts of heat or moisture as they will not crack, warp, or fade. These also come with a lifetime guarantee, our Palm Beach Promise™, and are built with interior aluminum bracing, which gives each shutter maximum strength.

The final type is Hunter Douglas' NewStyle® hybrid. These treatments are unique because not only are they extremely durable in nature since they are created out of man-made materials, but they also maintain the appearance of real hardwood. They use the same Truemill® construction as our 100% hardwood shutters, and by using the UltraGrain™ finish, the shutters mimic the look of real wood in terms of its grain-like appearance. Another benefit of this style is that they can be outfitted on circular windows, arches, and more, which gives you a wide range of how to implement them in your household. Adding shutters to your home gives you the flexibility to be creative in placing them.
